Scope and content

Was glad to have Beaton's letter. Miss Sitwell has sent him an 'out-of-this-world' piece about Alec Guinness playing the Fool in "King Lear" for their Theatre "View". Asks if Beaton has a photograph of Guinness and if he would let them reproduce it as the frontpiece. Has just spent ten days with his mother in Sarasota. Describes the attractions of Sarasota. Extended description of the circus. He took his camera to the circus and took about a hundred photos. Took pictures of a tatooed man on the beach. Praises Lincoln's Ballet Society production of "Zodiac". Saw a lovely photo of Beaton's in April Theatre Arts depicting a scene from a J. Arthur Rank film. Was amused about "The Angel". Asks if Beaton will send him the Angel script. Has revised his and shelved it. The spring "View" with a cover by Pavlik is just out. Ruth has just come back from Mexico and is wanted for a big part in Robert Montgomery's next film. He and Pavlik are going back to Vermont. They hope to go to Europe next year. Pavlik wants to take an exhibition over. If Beaton has any other photographs of stage stars or scenes, he would love them for the Theatre number.
