But the rest of the pictures are Beaton's own. Does not know where Beaton is at the moment. They are beginning to experience rationing and the 'servant problem' is getting harder. Louie May is marrying Harry Hopkins. Discusses Ilka. Was glad to have Beaton's book. Discusses various acquaintances. Is unable to make it to the country much because of the gasoline shortage so stays half the time in Ilka's apartment. Discusses various magazines. Does not feel happy about the general look of "Vogue".
