Scope and content

Memo from Dr. Agha enclosed discussing Beaton's portrait photographs. Chase is sending Beaton some old-fashioned hard candies. Is keeping Beaton's letters as souvenires. Feels 'sick with shame' when she thinks the war could be finishing but for 'our stupidity'. Amerca is still 'talking and talking'. Feels they will certainly win. Gave a talk at the Fashion Group last week and quoted bits from Beaton's writing. Is sending a copy to Beaton. Discusses the '"South American fair"'. Went to the opening dinner and Mrs. Roosevelt and Mrs. Wallace and lots of South American diplomats were there. Has Leslie Benson staying with her. Agrees with Agha about Beaton's photographs. Thinks there has been too much re-touching.
