Scope and content

Has been discussing the best letter-writers of the day, and gave Beaton good marks. He has scored more for the "enchanting" letter which has just come. Where is Beaton going into retreat? He should find a cottage somewhere near here so that he can now and again break out of his hermit's cell. Georgia's fall appears not to be too serious. She was taken to be X-rayed but there is no real injury. She was found to have a bone out of place, which has always been there, but which must be put right within the next three months. They were to leave for Venice today. Edith is going too. Was over at Weston for two nights. Describes the house, which was lovely.
