It was angelic of Beaton to send a cheque for the ambulance and she does not know why he apologises for the size of the cheque. Beaton's letter arrived after the fund was closed so she is returning the cheque with thanks for the kind thought. They got more than enough for the ambulance. Is delighted to hear that Beaton is getting such interesting work and hopes he will soon smooth out financial difficulties. Is lucky to be in Tangier. The weather is lovely and there is no rationing.
