Enquires about Beaton's book. Wishes she could see them all and Beaton's new home. Almost wishes the horror of the war would start quickly but knows it will be awful once the fighting really starts. Sometimes wishes she was more in the middle of it, but is lucky to be here considering she could do nothing. The weather has been awful. Mrs. Green married a taxi driver not long ago, but he left her. Burgess is in good fettle. Is enclosing an appeal for their new scheme and wonders if Beaton would like to contribute. Wrote to Juliet and asked her if Michael would subscribe.
