Scope and content
Gives news of his summer tour, conducted in pouring rain. Gives brief descriptions of Nagoya and Kyoto. Describes a lecture he was asked to give to Japanese businessmen entitled 'What shall I do to be rich?' where he 'lectured them on the folly of most of their habits'. Also visited Osaka where he contracted dysentry and was forced to return to Tokyo and thence to the hills of Nikko.
