Photograph album and scrapbook

Material kept by an individual staff member and donated to the archives in 2023. College staff social events (including weddings of staff members and photos of staff being given presents when leaving College); orders of service for services taking place at the College chapel, including memorial services; photos of College including the horse chestnut in the Master's garden being taken down. Also includes some press cuttings and a certificate for a donation to charity of money raised by staff

Port Latin exhibition

The Cambridge Register, 1844, records that: "an Exhibition, called the ‘St John Port Latin Exhibition’, value £50 per annum, has been founded for the best proficient in Classical learning among the Freshmen, whose names shall have been entered on the College boards before the end of the Easter term next preceding their residence".

Also includes a programme for the 1897 First and Third Trinity Boat Club Ball.

One of the 1952 programmes contains a black-and-white pastedown photograph of Isolde Gundert, Janet Lawrie and June Mackintosh, guests of Johnians Alick Bartholomew and John Hyatt, at Hemingford Grey on the morning after the May Ball.

Contains pastedown programmes, tickets, St. John's Musical Society stamps, and a manuscript note written by M. Hornibrook, Hon. Secretary of the Musical Society, stating that the book is intended for programmes of the May Concert only [dated June 1897].

Pykeryng's Lands

Includes: deeds and related documents for Pyckeryng's lands at Atwick; also includes a lease for Little Markham Manor house in Nottinghamshire between the College and Robert Chapell; sale documents for Robert White and his wife Maude of Bishop's Lynn, Norfolk and material relating to Garton's holding in Atwick.

Also includes a case of the opinion of counsel which involves Francis Carleill [sic] and Matthew Oates. In the margin of the document there is a notation concerning William Babthorpe, John Pickering and Pickering's heirs.
