The documents were originally organised according to their drawer number (D63) and then given an individual number. The drawer number has been removed and replaced with AWH/3 but the individual document number has been retained. Thus D63.1 is now SJES/2/3/AWH/3/1.

The original wrapper for the deeds was a lease between the College and Robert Chappell for the Little Markham Manor house in Nottinghamshire. This is dated 1696 and is parchment.
