Scope and content

They have had to postpone "L'Italiana in Algeri" until next year because "La Cenerentola" sells so well. Does not want to do a similar piece before the first has been commercially exhausted. Has lots of materials to inspire Beaton and should be able to pay him in advance. With Jean Rosenthal, he has done daring and original productions and they have improved the opera repertory past belief. Minnie Astor has married a nice painter rather than the Earl of Warwick. Francis Bacon has had a big success. Fred won't be working with them for a long time and plans to go to London.
