Scope and content

The ballet has had an extremely successful second season in Hollywood, but they have no money for new things. Balanchine does glorious new works which will be seen in their usual style. Saw a good review of Beaton's book in the "Times Literary Supplement". Tried to get Beaton the job of designer for "Ce Soir a Samarcand" but they thought he was too grand. Describes the Shakespeare Festival at Stratford Ontario. Discusses various acquaintances. Would adore to see Beaton's "Love's Labour's Lost". Mentions several new shows.
