Scope and content

Has an Audograph machine with which to write her letter. Was glad to hear about Beaton's mother and about his house. Feels that her life is very 'humdrum' at the moment. Ilka and Mary Lewis gave her a surprise party for her birthday. Forgot about her shingles and broken arm while her friends were there. Has heard that Beaton is coming to New York to produce some plays. Hopes that she will be able to see him. Heard from Audrey that Beaton was not interested in the fashion field any longer. Thinks it would be a pity if he gave it up completely. Finds life boring since she has left the office routine. Would like to travel for a while but does not feel well enough to go alone.
