Returned to New York about ten days ago. After Holland, went to Brussels and then to Paris. Has been difficult to take up New York life again. Has no definite news on his theatre projects yet. Has been making notes for a new play which suddenly occurred to him. Is going to take up the diaries on a serious daily schedule and hopes to send Beaton a wad of work in three or four weeks. His finances are low after his vacation. Hopes Beaton will send him three hundred dollars in advance on work to be done. Hopes Beaton's vacation has unwound him. Beaton mustn't worry about having been tense in Amsterdam as Hansen understood his many problems. Discusses New York.
