Scope and content
The visit had to be cancelled as Alfred was taken ill with an infection. He is well now but the doctor thought he should not go too far away. She is learning French and A. has his garden. When it rains he goes into the kitchen and cooks. Would love to see Beaton's winter garden and longs to hear about his visit to Ireland. Asks about the Wilton ball. Asks Beaton to visit when he has stopped turning himself inside out for Irene Selznick. Alfred's mother died in their house a month ago. It was their first experience of death.
