Scope and content

Has been home for nearly two weeks and misses Beaton. All of the photographs he took of Beaton at Reddish house have turned out double exposed. Had a calm pulling-together time with Beaton in the country. Has the telephone turned off most of the time and only returns the calls that are necessary. New York has a very nice atmosphere. The financial crisis has served to calm people down. Thinks people's values are changing. Had a busy day the day he left Beaton. Hired a car to take him shopping and then to the airport. Spent all his money and had the car bill sent to Beaton. Encloses £10 to cover it.
