Scope and content
Thanks Beaton for the "lavish extravagant expensive delicious ravishing" present. Hopes he got home alright. It was best not to go to Ashcombe as Peter Watson was finding it a strain to drive the car. Expects he is not yet used to the Rolls. Loved their walk in the park. Is telling Stroud to stand by for Thursday. Is Beaton coming in his own new car? Gives him directions. Feels Beaton may find it impossible to sleep as Ashcombe on Thursday night, so is making up a bed for him here. Much as she would love to stay at Ashcombe on Sunday night, it might stop Beaton and Rex from sleeping a wink. Feels that "the young men would prefer their jollity without feminine intrusions".
