Autograph letter signed to Mummie, from 419 East 57. Undated, but must be after his move on 15 January and before his next letter of 30 January. Is settling in well to his apartment, which is cheaper and more convenient than the hotel. Lady Wolfe's departure for Europe has stopped the exhibition, just as people were starting to come in greater numbers. He has sold about $2000 of work and has orders galore. It was a mistake to hold the exhibition at a shop rather than an art gallery. He is starting to make more money. Vogue is sending him to Palm Beach to write and article and take photos, then he has spring fashion photos for Vogue. He will return to England in the middle of March. He may be illustrating a book for Anita Loos. The Cotton firm has not come up with any work, but an advertising company is now interested in him. Mrs H. Williams has commissioned him to paint a copy of a picture for $1000. Asks her to send her hat measurements and he will bring her one of little James's hats. Last night was the Beaux Arts Ball, with wonderful costumes. Hopes that Reggie will enjoy the air force. Goes to the Everglades Club Palm Beach on 5 February.
