Scope and content

Autograph letter signed to Mummie, Daddy, Nancy, Baba, and Reggie, from the Ambassador Hotel, New York. He couldn't get his exhibition ready by the 7th, so it starts today (11 January). He had a private view tea party the previous day which 200 people attended, and a private view for which 1000 invitations were sent today. He has sold two pictures and been commissioned to paint Gertrude Lawrence. He will not hold an exhibition in a venue other than a gallery again. Has been working very hard up to the last minute to get things ready for the exhibition. Is moving out of the hotel to 419 East 57 on the 15th.
