Scope and content

Has sufficient money to live for the next year or so without having to do work outside his own creative writing. Is happy to read and comment on Volume II of Beaton's diaries, but thinks he will be unable to do any rewriting as he will be absorbed in his own play. Hopes Beaton does not feel like he is abandoning him. Will only be able to come to England to help Beaton with "Landscape with Figures". Would not like to undertake an article at this time. Suggests Beaton pay one half of the cost of his transportation from New York to England if they agree that he does 25 hours work on the play. If he does thirty to fifty hours work on the play, feels that Beaton should pay his whole fare. If he works for more than fifty hours, feels that they should discuss some token renumeration above the fare.
