Scope and content
Writes in regard to an article in the Sunday Times, and offers a comment based on his experience in the meat trade. Wonders if reindeer died with full stomachs, causing putrefaction 'within about 12 hours which is faster than they would freeze in 'still' freezing air', whereas cows, mammoths or reindeers that had not eaten, or had been slowly starving would not putrefy in the same circumstances. With second letter attached (14 June 1981) correcting a typist's error in the first.
