Item 135 - Carbon copy of typescript letter, signed, from Harold Anderson, Clarkston, Glasgow, to the Editor of The observer

Copy of letter addressed to FH. FH's book, Ice, reviewed in that days Observer 'raises attention to the vital need to warm the oceans'. Encloses an article, 'Lunaheat' Lets abolish Northern winter' [sic] (not present), which details a plan that would 'melt the arctic sea ice in twelve years'. The scheme would use 'pump actuated tidal flaps' and the moon's tidal action to 'circulate warm Pacific water via central America, the Atlantic, the Arctic and the Bering Strait'. This would revitalise the steel and shipbuilding industries.
