Based on the documents circulated by the General Board (see 8/2/5). The Board welcomes the proposal. It would be glad of an assurance that its needs will not be prejudiced by preference given to the Institute. There should be fullest cooperation between the Institute and theoretical astronomers in DAMTP. The Board wishes to be represented on the governing body of the Institute. How is the expenditure on a computer for the Institute related to spending on computers in the University as a whole? Undergraduate teaching will not be affected by the Institute.
