Scope and content

A handwritten letter to Beaton, in which Harold (possibly not Freedman) writes that he expects to be at the Savoy for approximately two weeks around 21st/22nd of the month. No date given, but possibly is September 1954. He expresses his anticipation in viewing "The Chalk Garden", albeit with "some misgivings as to its visual background". In particular, he finds it difficult to conceive of the play being put on in London with Beaton's absence in America. The consequence is that the visual element has been diminshed; Harold expresses his displeasure in witnessing a play by anyone other than Beaton's.
