Remembers 7 Cs in his staircase. The 'Iniquity' was an annexe to the Chapel with one set to which access was from the first landing of his staircase. Its denotation was not the one in which was recorded J.M. French, son of the schoolmaster of Gt Thurlow Grammar School. H.R. Hardwick entered C6 in Michaelmas 1847 and left at the end of the May term 1850. He was succeeded in Michaelmas by G.H. Sweeting, followed by Tucker. A man called Buckell was in C3 for some of his time. Martin Bresher, who took his degree in 1850 and was lately an incumbent in York was in the room under C6. Under C7 was Wm Owen for 1 or 2 terms of his time. Jonathan Bates kept C1 before he migrated to Caius.
