Scope and content

Provides detailed notes on his own rooms and those of contemporaries, with dates. Names mentioned include: Hollier, W.E. Mullins, J. Birkett, J.M. Wilson, B.W. Horne, Duke, W.J. Rees, Bayley (a Fellow-Commoner), C.R. Jones, W.S. Wood, A.W. Potts, J.F. Jenkin, Bower, J. Green, C.G. Leslie, Cowie, A.O. Russell, E.K. Kendall, H.C. Barstow, J.P. [sic, ie. W.P.] Fison, C.M. Roberts, R.A. Ventor. Suggests that the old day books might be a useful source of information. Also notes that W.J. Taylor kept the rooms under the Library 1854-57, succeeding Dumas, with R.W. Prichard on the next staircase, and opposite him J.R. Brett. His bedmaker had told him that Mr Bashforth had previously had his rooms. The garrets were occupied in 1854 by R.C. Pearson and F. Heppenstall.
