Scope and content

Discusses Rita (Lydig) for Beaton's book. Can discuss her objectively despite being her sister. Rita was 'entrancing and remarkable'. Many men loved her but she was 'passionately religious'. Beaton met Rita shortly before her death when she was in a lot of pain. Rita is not a good person for Beaton's book as his readers would not understand her. Discusses how Beaton writes. Believes he should not concern himself with the 'gossip column' aspect of people's lives. Hopes to see Beaton soon in New York.
