Scope and content

Thanks Beaton for his amusing letter. His description of Rex and his work is very sympathetic. He writes "with such impulsive ease and charm". His judgements are just and wise. Met Maud at the Chelsea Flower Show and she told him Beaton was going to stay with Juliet. Asks him to come to Wilsford for a night. Would like to visit him at Shepperton. Thanks him again for the "intense pleasure" of his gift.
