Scope and content
Beaton is very nice to write her such a letter after all her "pernicketisms". An outside person is always a bit of a nuisance in suggesting alterations. Spent 3 hours in the dentist's chair yesterday and came back to be cheered by Beaton's letter, and greatly enjoyed his "Introduction". Beaton spoke of "raving beauties". Does this mean that they raved like madwomen? Suggests alternatives to some of his sentences. On the whole she thinks it is very good. Looks forward to the 15th but Beaton is not to suggest that "I ever could, have, can, shall, or will get drunk".
