Scope and content
Was in town for an hour today, and tried to see Beaton, as it would be easier to talk to him than write. It all comes down to whether Ashcombe is a pearl of great promise in his eyes. It is uniquely romantic and the rent is not bad for what it is. Wonders if it is the sort to make Beaton really happy. It is only worth it if he spends a good deal of time there. Would the kind of work he does be at all possible there? He should bring someone who knows him well down to look at it to see if he is made to be the "Squire of Ashcombe". She is not sure, especially as he seems to be wavering.
