Scope and content
Explains why he disagrees with Glover's letter in the previous edition of 'Friend' and worries that it might have antagonised some of the Friends. Argues that it might be beneficial for the Friends to give up work in 'one or more of the five fields' in order that their work in the remaining fields could be strengthened. Gives their Chinese Mission as an example. Agrees that funding for missions is available but believes that Glover's letter might not have helped in obtaining it.
