Scope and content
Was amazed by JWW's account of 'the philosophic trio wandering in Switzerland' and wonders what Babbage did 'with the wife and bairns ... during the pilgramage.' Discusses the appointment of Herschel to the Council of the Royal Society and notes that it is to become a more scientific body. Discusses Price and his likely failure as a politician and also discusses the Bridge Street Association and the merits of other such political associations. Advises JWW not to mention the benefit of provisions being cheap and notes his belief that the Corn Bill has 'done inculpable mischief.' Hopes to receive a communication outlining JWW's work in the near future.
