The volume was found among the papers of Glyn Daniel, Fellow, in Jan. 1987 and deposited in the Archive by the Junior Bursar.

Includes: Steward's Order Book containing written orders for dining arrangements for Fellows, and members of College; general orders relating to students’ absence for dinner in Hall (1881); College orders relating to the management of the kitchen and Hall by the Steward (1878-1888); orders relating to combination room breakfast (1876-1891). The volume also contains a printed copy of the regor fellows; a printed card about meal times at Christmas (1882); a printed copy of the buttery rules (1876); rules for the undergraduates’ kitchen accounts (1882); Fellows’ praetor allowance (1883); a printed copy of the minutes of the dinner committee of undergraduates (1881); and rules for undergraduates using the guest's table; notes on the expenditure for a gas stove, a herd of cattle and buildings and a memo recording the first month to the bread account (1833).

Also includes loose documents: an application for the position of caterer and cook; a letter to the steward; dining arrangement for undergraduates (1882); printed guidelines on the storage of ales in cask and in bottle; a recipe for beer.
