Memorandum possibly a preliminary to a lawsuit. Stating that Juliana le Pope and William, the illegitimate son of her sister, Alice, together held two messuages and 11 acres of land in the gift of Thomas de Lyndesey as appears in the roll of a court held at Wyndlesham [Windlesham], Wednesday before St Edward's Day, 17 Edward II. After that they acquired a meadow called Forebrok Rudelake containing three acres, held in chief of the Prioress of Broomhall at a yearly rent of 15 pence, as appears in the roll of a court held at Windlesham, Thursday after St Martin's Day, 17 Edward II. Both Juliana and William died without heirs in the first pestilence, and their messuages and lands are escheated to the Prioress. But the meadow is claimed by Robert Brys and Thomas his son, through consanguinity with Alicia [Alice] le Pope. But as Alicia never had any claim to the meadow herself, Robert and Thomas occupy it to the great loss and costs of the Prioress. And she is ready to prove the truth.
