Scope and content
Letter responding to questions / requests from Bursar. Describes the Down Court proceedings ('nothing but the Collection of Quitrents'); has obtained from Mr Plummer a statement of accounts up to 1818, when the last court was held; advises that the income from quitrents so small it would be an unnecessary expense to hold a manorial court more than once every seven years; doesn't agree with the Bursar's request that a terrier be drawn up, as being unnecessarily expensive and 'so much wastepaper', although will tell Mr Brockman to create one if the Bursar insists on it
