Audio recording of Sir Hugh Casson's lecture migrated to digital media in Sep 2013. Original format zonatape magenetic tape retained as a sample. Back-up copy stored on Archive external drive. Duplicate copies of the notes for Casson's lecture may exist in the Master's papers.
Sir Hugh Casson (1910-1999) was a British architect, artist and writer, noted especially for his work as Director of Architecture at the 1951 Festival of Britain on London's South Bank. He was elected to the Royal Academy in 1970 and served as its President, 1976-1984. He studied at St. John's College, Cambridge between 1929 and 1931.
Professor Peter Hennessy (1947-) is a British historian and academic, who has published widely on the history of government. He studied at St. John's College, Cambridge, where he graduated BA 1969.
Sir Percy Cradock (1923-2010) was a British civil servant and diplomat, who served as British Ambassador to the People's Republic of China, 1978-1983. A former student, Cradock was awarded an honorary fellowship by St. John's College in 1982.
