Prioress: Isabella.
Indenture whereby John de Bokhurst [elsewhere Bokehirst] undertakes to grant to Broomhall Priory all the lands and holdings which he had of William de la Rokel [elsewhere, Rokele], for the foundation and maintenance of a chapel in the Priory of Broomhall and the for the support of a priest to say masses for the souls of the King, the Queen, of their ancestors and successors, of John de Bokhurst, of William de la Rokel and Elizabeth his wife, of Richard atte Loke and Johanna his wife and their parents and of all the faithful departed. Each of those commemorated shall have a mass said, as for a prioress, on their birthday. And for the greater surety, the Archdeacon of Berkshire shall enquire about it at his visitations each year; if by the testimony of sober persons, it is disclosed that the masses have not been said, the Archdeacon may put the Prioress and nuns under the censure of the Church. The chaplain shall daily say a special prayer in his mass.
