Note
In 1638 Dee bequeathed the lease of Pagham Rectory Sussex with its lands and tithes held from the Dean and Chapter of Canterbury, subject to certain tenancies for lives, to support two fellowships and two scholarships. He also left books to the Library, and to the chapel the ornaments of his private chapel at Peterborough. In 1673 the foundation was reduced to one fellowship and one scholarship due to insufficient funds. The lease of tithes and land was sold to the lessee William Brereton, 7 June 1799, for £10,000 in 3% consols (Conclusion Book, p. 73, Rental, under 'I' , 1801).
