Scope and content

Was delighted with Beaton's letter. Did not give its enclosure, "Loathsome Women", to his boss in case she accused him of not doing his PR job correctly and felt that she should be in it. She had a heart attack, and seems "full of fear" as a result. It is likely they will not be coming over to England for Christmas. Discusses his social life. "I am still able to do a little carousing but age is upon me and I am less ambitious". Has redone his apartment. Mr Gruau is living underneath him and working hard. Thinks Beaton has the right idea by working hard in the country then coming up to London for a change of air. Agreed with what he said about Monty. Peter Glenville is here to direct "Rashomon". Discusses his friends.
