Scope and content

Just back from the USA, saw Lyn and the babies at Princeton. Spoke of her financial difficulties and the suggestion that her brother in Chile should send her the £100 usually sent to her mother, while Max paid her mother this sum instead. Lyn was to make an obscure reference to this in her letter to Max which JMK would explain, to avoid arousing the censor's suspicion. JMK had checked that the transaction was completely legal. Encloses a modern painting by Max's son which Lydia was asked to transmit.
