Scope and content

Manuscript letter, in which Terrassault writes that the christening of Charles James Jr. - son of the fashion designer Charles James (1906-1978) - took place at St. John's the Divine the day before. Beaton's absence was felt because after thirty years, he belongs to the family. Terrasault tried to pass on a note from James in which he expressed his deep feelings for Beaton, but was intercepted by Beaton's secretary. Adds that he took many coloured photographs during the christening and asks whether he might send some to Beaton.
