Scope and content

Draws a diagram to indicate the position of his rooms, on water staircase, third court (E), and those of G. Everard, who was succeeded by C. Elsee. Foxley's predecessor was Callendar, afterwards Fellow of Magdalen. There was a tradition that Dr Hymers had kept there. On Foxley's bedroom door, some one had burnt with a hot iron a figure of a skeleton with a hand on the handle, nearly obliterated by layers of paint when he last saw it. Is sad how little he recollects his friends' rooms after 39 years. Jessop and Bates were in the Labyrinth. Grabham was on the ground floor in third court, ground floor being best for him as he used to walk in his sleep. H.W. Kirby was up a staircase from the third court cloister, and Lunn was probably in third court too.
