Scope and content
Typescript draft of an extract on Japanese flower arrangement. Beaton writes that, to Western minds, an almost grotesque amount of thought and effort is applied even to the most simple flower arrangements in Japan. Recently, traditional forms of flower arrangement have been influenced by a more modern style. The most important thing to learn from flower arrangement is the importance of form, the delight of quality being greater than quantity. [c.f. D/2/3/37 and D/2/3/40].
