Discusses turbine engines. Plans are in progress for the new works, the Wallsend site is preferred. Regarding the Turbinia, the new set of screws will soon be on and when combined with the larger chimney, he hopes to attain 32 knots. W. H. White is coming to look over the Turbinia. He is also considering asking Professor Weighton to conduct steam and water tests.

The next boat meeting will be on 26 February. Sir W. H. White has inspected the Turbinia, and was pleased, 'I think he was convinced that we could go astern fast if we wanted by a reverse turbine on the low pressure shaft.' However, White thinks that the stern should be built up square. There is a small diagram to illustrate this. They are in touch with the naval architects regarding further trials.
