Tells Beaton about his accident, in which he broke his shoulder. His mother has been suffering with multiple malignancies. Lee's father was ill for many weeks and died last week. The only bright spot has been Beaton's gorgeous pictures of Lee. Has been trying to get together as much Degas material as possible for Beaton.
