Scope and content

Collected the full payment this afternoon. Thanks Beaton very much. Loves Beaton's other paintings so it gives him special pleasure when he wants his work. Eileen has told him that he wants it framed. His former wife is giving a large evening party. Now that the work is being framed he can breathe and leave for Amsterdam. In the postscript, he discusses the three loans in his collection. Was tremendously encouraged when Peter Watson bought two of his paintings. Work has given him great happiness lately. The cloudy weather is consolation for a day off. Has discovered a new patron lately. Should love to do an oil sketch of Beaton's garden.
