Scope and content
Is writing to tell Beaton what he has done at the Vic. Discusses alterations to lighting. The Sunday Press has been bad. The performance yesterday afternoon was much better than Tuesday's performance and John Neville has improved 'out of all recognition'. Advises Beaton not to take the criticisms of the décor to heart. Discusses problems with the décor. Thinks that the green was a risk worth taking. Hopes all goes well in New York. Discusses other problems with the play. Does not know if he will be asked to do another Shakespeare, but would like to do another with Beaton.
