Scope and content

Will gladly do as Beaton asks. Hopes he shall not have to act until he is as long in the tooth as Hugh now is. If the 'unfortunate occasion' of his having to act does arise, he is anxious that closer members of Beaton's family might feel put out by having been superseded. Is assuming Beaton does not propose to remove Hugh, but merely to add Gladstone's name to those who are already trustees. Saw a picture of Reddish in the "National Gardens Scheme" book. It is nice of the house but doesn't do the garden justice. They are taking the children for a week in Majorca starting on Saturday.
