Beaton's letter made him so happy. Hopes to be in New York after Christmas. Wilsford is filled with men doing work. Has fled here to see Florence Hardy, the novelist's wife. Dorchester has "vast charm". What a lovely friend Beaton is. He treasures his combination of "sweetness & gaiety". Peter has given him a vase. If his Christmas card is tolerable Beaton shall have it.
