Scope and content

Thanks Beaton for the photograph he took of her for "Vogue". Praises the photograph. Knows Beaton will feel Princess Marina's departure acutely. Feels shattered and miserable about it. Was merciful that the end was quick and she didn't reach the old age she feared, but she will leave a terrible gap in their lives. There is a big party going on downstairs, but she couldn't face going to it. Ian and Patricia Potter will be at the Savoy in October. Suggests Beaton make a little gesture.
