Scope and content

Has followed Beaton's artistic career with great interest as she also has her roots in Temple Sowerby. His resemblance to his maternal grandfather is very striking. Her mother went to school with Beaton's mother and as a child she met them all on occasions. Reminisces about the "great romances" when Jessie and Etty entered high society in London, and her admiration when they came back to visit. Discusses her own family memories and history. Tells Beaton about her life now, doing a lot of housework and cooking, making her own suits and jumpers. Wishes Beaton every possible success in his various interests. It is people like him who should be selected for the Honours list, instead of "braying, twitching long-haired anomalies".
